HOT STONE MASSAGE

Often classed the the ultimate treatment at Spas & other well-being establishments, this is probably the most popular 'luxury /special occasion' treatment known in the UK.  Gift Vouchers for Hot Stone Massage make suitable presents for major milestones & birthdays, or for when a special treat or even a pick-me-up is required.

Carefully selected Basalt stones are heated in a tank of water, dried & oiled, and incorporated into the massage as a massage tool.  The heat from the stones helps the muscles to relax & is wonderfully soothing.  Hot stones are also placed at strategic points throughout the massage to aid your relaxation.

I can also use cold marble stones in the facial aspect of this massage, which may enhance the whole experience.

The full body hot stone massage takes approx 1 1/2 hrs, although this can be adapted if a shorter or longer treatment fits the bill!  There is also the option of an extended Back & Neck massage incorporating hot stones.

THAI FOOT MASSAGE

A really enjoyable massage of the feet & lower legs, which centres on working the SEN lines (energy channels) throughout the body.  The full treatment takes approx. 1 hour and can be performed on either the couch or on the Lafuma.

Thai foot massage integrates warm up techniques, massage of the feet & legs, stimualtion of reflex points, working the SEN lines, wrapping the feet & legs and stretching.  There are elements of Reflexology, Shiatsu, Yoga & Chinese massage within the therapy, however, despite these similarities, the treatment itself can stand alone at benefiting the whole body, mind and spirit.

The massage is both vigourous and relaxing, but can be tailored to your individual health needs.

Thai Foot Massage is the most popular massage for Asian people in Thailand, and is currently gaining in popularity in the UK.

THERAPIES DURING PREGNANCY

The majority of therapies are perfectly safe throughout pregnancy, as long as there are no underlying complications.  It is general practice to avoid treating pregnant clients until they have passed the 12 week milestone.  Treatments can then be undertaken with either a Midwife or GP consent.

Only therapists who have undertaken additional training, such as myself, will be able to treat pregnant women, and it must be remembered that they are also treating the unborn baby.

I personally enjoy treating pregnant women, and encourage regular therapies through to full term.  The use of therapies can ease a variety of uncomfortable symptoms, whilst the mix of therapies can change throughout, to aid certain things at certain times: for example, during the final few weeks, when snoring may be an issue, Hopi ear candling can be extremely beneficial.

It has been well documented that Reflexology throughout pregnancy will encourage a baby to be born on time, with the Mum experiencing a shorter labour.

A few Essential Oils must be avoided during pregnancy, however, most are safe when used at a lower concentration than the norm.  It is because of this that pre-blended massage mixes should be avoided during pregnancy, and why only qualified Aromatherapists with additional training should offer Aromatherapy massage to pregnant clients.

When massage is the therapy of choice, this can be done with the 'Mum to be' either side lying on the couch, or in my specially adapted seated acupressure chair, or with the 'Mum to be' sat on an exercise ball, well-supported - leaning on pillows piled on the couch.

Thai Foot Massage is especially popular with my pregnant clients, often on a monthly basis.  Anyone who has had a Thai Foot Massage, & has been pregnant, will understand why this is so!

'MUM TO BE - BABY IN WAITING' GIFT VOUCHERS

I am also offering a 'Mum to be - Baby in waiting' Gift Voucher.  This is a two part gift voucher which retails at £50.00, making it a wonderful present to give to a Mum as she embarks on Maternity Leave.

The gift voucher enables the 'Mum to be' to have a therapy before the birth, along with an introductory lesson in baby massage.  Following the birth she can enjoy a second lesson with her baby for further 'hands on' instruction.

If you would like to buy this type of Gift Voucher, particularly as a present from work colleagues, just phone me on 01454 773760 to order it.  As long as you supply me with your email address, I can invoice you via Paypal, and when payment has been received, can post the Gift Voucher to you.
